"The suffering majesty" installation by Gaetano Pesce

An enormous armchair in the shape of a woman's body, pierced by arrows, attacked by the heads of beasts and tied with a chain to a large ball to symbolize violence against women.

It is “The suffering majesty” an installation by Gaetano Pesce (visit the artist's website) 8 meters high and located in front of the main entrance of the Ferrara Fair.

The work, a tribute to the Up 5 and 6 armchair that Pesce conceived 50 years ago, already hosted in Milan always causes a sensation.

Art makes our brains discuss and grow. In my opinion - says Pesce - this work is a party, albeit sad because even if it remembers that women are victims of violence, it is better to remember it than to deny it.
